Thinks about this.......You get a phone call from Mac Mason asking you if you want to detect the heart of the Antietam Battlefield. You have permission from the NPS to hunt the area where Gen. D.H. Hills Division fought. You go on the hunt and while being guided by Mason you dig this bloody rare AVC buckle on the site of the bloodiest day in American military history.
Ahhhh the good old days, when the park service enjoyed rescuing and preserving history! Well thoes days are gone but this buckle was saved. Found just over 100 years after the battle, this buckle was dug in the mid 60's by my client. You will be hard pressed to find another AVC with this provenance.
This buckle saw action in the Sunken Road!!
