Excavated Cannon from Tennessee. This cannon is out of the personal collection of South Carolina State Senator Glenn McConnell. Senator McConnell purchased this tube at the Charleston Civil War Show about 15 Year ago. Weighing in at 110lb the tube is to large to be a signal cannon. One though is that it was a boat deck gun. It was found in a corn field in Tennessee. The surface of the tube is in very nice condition with VERY minor pitting. What you will see covering the tube are nicks from plows hitting it. The only markings that can be seen show

the ? looks to be a small 0 or it could be an 8. Look at the photos closely, I have included a photo under magnification of the 8 and the ? to help you decide if it is an 8 or a 0 and feel free to call and ask questions.
